Recycling Program

The ATHD’s recycling initiative has been a huge success.  Thank you, Aurora Township recyclers!  We continue to research additions to the recycling program and look forward to continue offering you expanded services in the future.

As a reminder to all new and current recyclers, please see the list below:

#1 - All recycling items should be clean!

#2 - No containers that held hazardous chemicals...even if they are clean.

As you can see, we've seriously expanded out abilities and reduced our restrictions.  Please do not hesitate to contact Jason at (630) 892-0246 if you have any questions.  Or, you can check out the AID recycling webpage for additional program information.

When can I recycle?

Our recycling center is open Monday through Friday from 8am - 330pm. If this is not convenient for your schedule, please contact Jason at the Highway Department's main office (630-892-0246) to make other arrangements.

How do I recycle?

Simply bring your acceptable recyclables to the Highway Department's facility at 220 Butterfield Road in North Aurora. Once you are buzzed in through the gate, proceed to the main office door and we'll direct you from there. For the time being, we are unable to leave an unattended recycling container outside of the main building.

Program Update!!! As the result of ATHD's new partnership with AID, you can also bring recyclables (but no glass) to AID's facility located at 309 W. New Indian Trail Rd.,

Aurora IL 60506.

When will you take...?

We are constantly researching new opportunities to expand our recycling list. If you have a suggestion, please let us know!
